I just ran across something today that was interesting. I was reading about Noah's Wish (http://www.noahswish.org/) - an organization that helps rescue and shelter animals during disasters.
One of the ways they had to raise money was Good Search, a Yahoo Search Engine that raises money for charities. http://www.goodsearch.com/
You can download the toolbar, or merely search directly from their site. They donate one penny per search to the organization(s) you select.
I remembered you had the Border Collie Rescue link on your blog. I see that Border Collie Rescues in Texas and California are listed as charities at their site.
List of Good Search Participating Charities http://www.goodsearch.com/charitylist-b3-7-none.aspx
The site also has a button to click to see how much money has been raised per month and year for each organization at their site.
I clicked on Noah's Rescue - the organization that led me to Good Search - and unfortunately they had only raised a nickle so far this year. But after a few searches, I checked again, and they had now raised 8 cents.
Admittedly, that is not a lot of money yet. But using Good Search does look like a small way to make a small difference just doing Internet Searches you would be doing anyway.
So I think I like it - and wanted to share it with you.
I've become interested in tiles, terra cotta, brick pattern design and other ornamentation on the brick buildings of St. Louis and have a second blog as of August 09 called St. Louis Mosaic at: stlouismosaic@blogspot.com
If you are new here, you will find some tile pictures and other ornamentation from the past month, the origins of this interest.
If you are only looking for ornamentation, you might as well just go on over to St. Louis Mosaic, where I am adding new stuff all the time and bringing over copies of everything that's here as well.
